Ynk Spot
  Art FAQ
  Me

The Ynk Spot is where I collect my artwork and related links. Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

This site is designed to be simple, fast and easy to both navigate and update.
It should also work with all major browsers (Netscape, Opera and even IE).
No fancy Flash or Java-scripts!
If you should get lost (I can't imagine how, but...) you can always click the Title logo to return to the Main page.

After all, this IS a site with artwork. I've tried to keep file sizes to a minimum, but if you still think that it takes too long to browse this site, try the Site Map. The map gives you instant access (in a HTML text document) to all available pages and drawings on this site.

"Ynk" does not only sound similar to "ink", it is also a very versatile Swedish word (or perhaps "sound") which I am very fond of! Ynk is not so much a word in itself as a part of the word "ynklig" (meaning pitiable, miserable). But it has become the "sound effect" and trademark of some of my characters when they are really small, harmless, cute or miserable.

Oh, and before I forget: Everything on this site is © Jonas Nelson.

Q: Do you do commissions?
A: Usually not, but it has been known to happen. The chance increases if you're a very close friend, if you are willing to pay, if I am short on money and if I "feel" for the drawing.

Q: OK, but can I use your art?
A: Yes, my art is free for anyone to use as long as you do NOT use it for commercial purposes (then I want a share), and as long as you clearly state that the drawing is copyrighted by Jonas Nelson.

Q: I've seen this picture somewhere else, you must have stolen it!
A:
No way, José! I do not steal! (Although I do sometimes borrow poses and inspiration). Most likely someone else is using MY art, so please report this to me!

Q: What materials do you use?
A:
Mostly ordinary lead pencils and black ink. Some drawings are coloured using water colour, others are scanned and coloured in photoshop.

Q: How long does it take do draw something like this?
A:
It depends. Usually between 4 and 12 hours (yes, I draw really slow, and I have to throw away a lot of sketches).

Wow, you should go Pro!
A:
No, I should not. First, I draw way to slow. You can't make a living on one drawing per day. Second, I like to draw for fun. If I had to draw for a living, it would take so much of the fun away.

Your so called art suck! My 6-year old sister draws better than this!
A:
I'm happy for her sake! You do not have to like my art, just go look at something you like instead.

I've tired of those spam 'bots browsing web pages for e-mail addresses, so I've decided to use Sneakemail on this site. Sneakemail will forward the mail to my regular e-mail address, and as soon as it starts collecting spam, I'll change to another Sneakemail address. So don't save this strange address in your address book or links. If you wan't to get in touch with me, I can give you my real address (e-mail as well as my post address) later, when I see fit. All you have to do is act nicely, ask nicely.
