EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE

The Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi end up in the middle of the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo and meet the Gungan Jar Jar Binks. Thanks to the droid R2-D2, they manage to escape in a ship with Queen Amidala of the Naboo.

With a damaged hyperdrive, they land on Tatooine where Qui-Gon and the Queen's handmaiden Padmé meet the slave boy Anakin Skywalker. The Force is strong with Anakin who succeeds in winning a new drive and his freedom in a Podrace.

After an attack by the Sith Darth Maul, the apprentice of the mysterious Darth Sidious, Anakin goes with Qui-Gon to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi, but the Jedi Council forbids it. On Senator Palpatine's advice, Amidala calls for a new election in the Senate.

Amidala, who has been hiding behind the identity of Padmé, launches a battle on three fronts against the Federation. They win thanks to Anakin, but Qui-Gon is killed by Maul. Obi-Wan is promoted to Jedi Knight and Anakin becomes his apprentice . . . .
