THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Luke Skywalker gets lost in a snowstorm outside the Rebels' new base on the planet Hoth. In a vision, Ben Kenobi asks him to seek out the Jedi Master Yoda. Han Solo finds the frost-bitten Luke, but the Empire is on the trail of the Rebels.

Darth Vader lands his troops while the Rebel forces get ready for battle. The Rebels' ground troops cannot withstand the Empire's mighty walkers and the evacuation is accelerated. Luke's ship crashes during the battle.

Luke gets out of the ship and manages to destroy a walker. Princess Leia, Han, Chewbacca and C-3PO escape into an asteroid field and hide on a large asteroid. Luke and R2-D2 take an X-Wing to Dagobah in order to seek out Yoda.

Yoda begins training Luke as a Jedi and warns him about the dark side of the Force. Vader persuades the Emperor that Luke should be turned. The relationship between Leia and Han grows into love, but Vader's bounty hunter Boba Fett is after them.

Han heads for Bespin and his old friend Lando Calrissian for repairs. However, Vader is waiting for them and Han is frozen in carbonite and turned over to Fett. Luke senses that his friends are in danger and leaves Yoda for Bespin.

Fett leaves with Han to turn him over to Jabba. Vader cuts off Luke's right hand in a lightsaber duel and reveals that he is Luke's father. Luke plunges to his death, but is saved at the last moment by Leia and Lando . . . .
