A NEW HOPE

A Rebel ship is boarded by Darth Vader and his Imperial troops. Princess Leia is captured, but two robots, R2-D2 and C-3PO, escape to Tatooine where they end up in the hands of Luke Skywalker. When R2 runs away, Luke walks right into the trap of the Sand People.

They are saved by the Jedi Knight Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi who knew Luke's father. R2 plays a distress call from Leia. They must get to Alderaan with the information inside R2 so they turn to Captain Han Solo and his friend Chewbacca.

Governor Tarkin annihilates Alderaan with the Death Star, the Empire's new battle station. The Millennium Falcon, Han's ship, is dragged aboard with a beam. Ben sneaks off to deactivate the beam while Luke, Han and Chewie rescue Leia.

Cornered by stormtroopers, Leia and her rescuers jump down a garbage chute where they are all but crushed. Ben deactivates the beam, but encounters Vader and a duel commences. Once the heroes reach the Falcon, Ben allows himself to be killed.

Luke and Han shoot down the pursuing Imperial ships and they travel to the Rebel base on the fourth moon of Yavin. An attack on the Death Star is staged using the information in R2, but Han and Chewie are off.

The Rebels' X-Wings attack the battle station and are shot down one by one. Vader is on Luke's heels, but Han suddenly shows up in the Falcon and Luke is able, with Ben's words in his mind, to use the Force in order to destroy the Death Star . . . .
