Beastie Boy and Mr. Grand Royal himself, Mike D, can now beadded to the long and eclectic list of artists contributing to the newBran Van 3000 album. Mike reportedly worked very closely withBran Van mastermind James DiSalvio, putting the finishingtouches on Discosis, the follow-up to the beloved Glee. The 16-track album - not 13 as reported on other websites - alsofeatures production work by legendary Cars singer Ric Ocasek andguest performances by a slew of musicians. DiSalvio and crewtraveled as far away as Africa to work with artists like YoussouN’Dour, Big Daddy Kane, Momus and Eek--Mouse. The collaboration attracting the most interest, however, is the firstsingle, "Astounded" which features previously unreleased vocals byCurtis Mayfield. The musical legend gave DiSalvio clearance touse the track, an alternate version of his hit "Move On Up," justweeks before his death.
