Now some
pictures from the railroad and Nimba.

These two
pictures are a bit unik! They are taken from the very first train that went
from Buchanan to Nimba with empty ore cars. For some reason I travelled with
that train. I remember that the last part of the railroad wasn’t finished yet
and the ride was a bit bumpy!

This is a
view of the mine. The mining had not yet started. The picture on the right
shows the crusher. It is still under construction.

A view of
Yekepa from the mine. Note the conveyor belt. And to the right a picture of the
mine road up the mountin from Yekepa.

Me in one
of the shovels. And a comparison between a WW and an ore truck. Some people
parked behind the ore trucks and would find that the height of the WW would be
reduced to about 20 centimeter if they were unlucky!

My house in
area R in Yekepa. The workers are probably one of the ever present DDT spraying
groups! The other picture is a view of the Yekepa restaurant and guest house
from area R.
