This page presents myself, my education and work.

My Curriculum Vitae is available for anyone interested. It will give a short but accurate description of my professional abilities and (I hope!) qualities.

I describe some of my travels, which include destinations such as Peru, South Africa , Ethiopia and China.

I use BOINC to donate some of my computer time to worthwhile scientific projects. It all started with the seach for extraterrestrial life (SETI@home) projects, but I have now chosen to support projects that I find are more important.

 World Community Grid. The most useful thing you can do with your computer

  • ClimatePrediction.net is working on the improvement of climate prediction models used to predict things like global warming.
  • FightAids@home is a project dedicated to finding a cure for AIDS. It is run by the World Community Grid and now also supports BOINC. WCG also run other important projects, like the Help Defeat Cancer project and Discovering Dengue Drugs – Together.
  • MalariaControl.net is still in beta phase, but is working to decrease the spread of malaria.

Please consider supporting one of these projects yourself! All it requires is that you allow your CPU do something useful when it would otherwise have been idle.
