If Skellefteå is the indie capital of Sweden, Gothenburg is the hiphop capital. Nevertheless, it comes as a complete surprise how good Goldmine are, and we watch enthralled. Maybe this is standard West Coast (no, the other one, silly) stuff, but this bunch give a virtuoso performance, six rappers intertwining their lines with panache over a soulful jazz-funk backdrop of drum, bass and samples. They're fantastic to look at, and are loaded with the sort charisma that's hard to find among Trästock's more numerous guitar bands. We grin a lot, and decide to move to Los Angeles. Or maybe just Gothenburg.
