Sofia, an Unknown Heroine
4:e October 2002
Once
not long ago
She sat,
the little girl,
with skin,
black, shining,
like ebony,
in the pale moonlight
Hunching in the thicket
Alongside the path,
created by steps from thousands of naked feet.
She breathed heavily after her violent run.
A frightened little girl,
like so many others at that time,
In a before,
so prosperous country.
Now
a country
torn apart by conflicts
where the pity, innocent,
people
become victims
of egoism
and warlords striving for power.
A country,
controlled by point of a spear.
But still
she can,
despite she once stepped on a booby-trap
and lost her both legs,
the little black girl,
Sofia,
sit happily with her sewing machine,
sewing for people in her village
and the neighborhood.
A human fate.
For us,
in the prosperous world,
unknown,
But a heroine and example
for all those,
who feel the gnawing of hopelessness
and who lost their fait in life.
