The 9 score was for the technique - a run of the mill cheastwound, difficulty 2.3, the artistic score will probably be lower as there is no splatter. As usual it is the Russian judge who keeps the score down to favour their own contestants.

i ave it on good authority that he did not score a perfect 10 because he did not finish his back flip when he hit the pavement, so a point was deducted for diening before his performance had ended
he did come in first place that day but did not show up to pick up his trophey, but eye witnesses say they saw someone that fitted Jeffrey Dahmers description throwing a dinner party :)
