WELCOME! These
are my hand carved pipe tampers. They are mostly made from Juniper wood
that I've collected locally. After giving them a rough shape with a sanding
disc on my drilling machine, I hand sand them with 80-240 grit paper ending
with 0000 steelwool. the Juniper wood is very dense and after sanded it
feels almost like bone to the touch. The brass casings comes from a nearby fireing range, used by the swedish army, where they have been exposed to the climate since they where spent in the 1970's-80's. They are polished and cut to size, then fitted to the wood with CA-glue. The tampers are then sometimes stained and finally I hand buff a thin layer of beeswax to give them some protection. The brass casings on these tampers give them some weight and a pretty good balance. |

I was planning on selling these tampers for $20/€14 + shipping a piece, but I'd much rather trade them for some pipe tobacco (expensive and poor selection here in Sweden) or something other pipe related. (pipes, books, tools, stands... etc.) Give me an offer!!! I'm a reasonable guy. Cheers, |
