Willie Mbuende Band is an afro band, based in southern Sweden.
The music is mainly original compositions by band leader, bass player and singer Willie Mbuende.

Willie Mbuende Band plays contemporary music from southern Africa with an obvious link to traditional music, in ambitious arrangements with plenty of vocal harmonies. They create their own mix, influenced by many musical styles such as mbaqanga, highlife, afrofunk and marrabenta. The band is charged with musical joy and its stage performance is very lively. Danceable rhythms pulls the audience to the dancefloor, while improvisation and elements from traditional music add extra excitement to the show. Music for body and soul!

Lotta Hedin - vocals.

Ingrid Savbrant - vocals. Started her solo career in 1992 and has also released three solo albums, and participated with backup vocals in many productions. Read more here.

In the past, the band has played at Fasching, Nefertiti, Katalin, Nalen (SELAM:s festival), Mejeriet, Cultural Center in Hässleholm etc
