The SIDADI concept is to bring traditional music into contemporary music by doing research of the music of the different ethnic groups in Namibia, doing workshops and then recording the music and performing it live. The SIDADI project has been active once a year since 2001. |

"The annual "Sidadi – It’s Ours" project rediscovers and rekindles traditional music forms from different parts of Namibia. The aim is to present traditional songs in a contemporary format, with the involvement of the few remaining traditional musicians in Namibia and with an emphasis on preserving the original spirit and mood of their music. A six-piece musical group has emerged from this project, the Sidadi Band, under the leadership and guidance of well-known Namibian bass guitar player, musical director and musical ambassador, Willie Mbuende."
