HEAVY HARMONIES (website) (8.5 of 10) Now here's a young band who claim their biggest influences were Hanoi Rocks, Dogs D'amour, Rolling Stones, Johnny Thunders/New York Dolls, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper... and all of their influences shine through on their music. Great fun and a killer raw sound, these guys look set to make it big (here's hoping), cos they have such immense talent. This is the stronger of their two records IMO, the only weak song to me is Waiting for a Move, the rest is stunning and so catchy. Brilliant stuff. My current pick as the best new unsigned band out there... why haven't these guys been signed yet??? Oh well, I love them as they are, I'm sure a major deal would only try to wipe away the raw charm and passionate work-ethic this band has always used to their advantage. Doing things the old-fashioned way, the Love Injections are currently recording their third self-released demo-album as we speak... however this album can now be downloaded for free in the meantime over at www.loveinjections.com / Aero Force Mike BACKLASH (website) (4 av 5) Den här plattan skulle man lätt kunna slänga på när man är på väg hem ifrån roskilde eller dylikt. 3 Sheets To The Wind luktar massor av gamla Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper och snusk-New York Dolls. GLITZINE (website) The Love Injections play rock n roll the way it was meant to be played. No frills guitar, pounding drums, driving bass and raw vocals drenched in emotion. Fans of the Dog's D'Amour, early Hanoi Rocks, Jeremy and the Suicides or the Dogtown Balladeers would enjoy this offering from the Swedish based Love Injections. Strong points of this demo are the Hanoi influenced 'End of the Line', 'Time's Up' (which can easily be a hit if it ever seen an official release) and the rockin' cover of 'Black Girl/White Girl' from the Lords of the New Church. While The Love Injections proudly display their influences on their collective sleeves, '3 Sheets to the Wind' comes off as original, fresh, new and exciting. I raise my glass to them in hopes of a full-length release in the future. Cheers. /Mister E. SLAM! (website) Here's an appreciated come-back from the swedish band Love Injections handed to ya on a silver platter - 8 tracks (including 2 cover versions) of pure and crude rock 'n' roll - the kind Mr. Tyla forgot about, which luckily lives on thanks to bands like The Quireboys. I think you can dig what I'm talking about just by listening to the opening track "End of the Line"; your foot starts tapping and soon your ass is shaking left-and-right like it used to back in the hey-days of The Dogs d'Amour... What else can I say!? Super cool song! The following track "Don't Stop" is just as good... And who cares if it sounds a bit too much like Jagger & Richards, this is nothing but booty-shaking, fucking rock 'n' roll... Ahhh - feels good!!! "Bottom of the Barrell" is a head-on collision between Hanoi Rocks and Darrell Bath, and in track 4 we get the first cover song - The Yardbird's "Putty (In Your Hands)" and then another booty-shaking song in "Waiting For A Move". "Time's Up" continues where "Don't Stop" left off and before the end of the album we still have time to taste The Lords of the New Church's "Black Girl/White Girl" and "Don't Be Like Me", a song in the vein of The Dogs d'Amour filled with acoustic guitars. Dear punters, if I were you I wouldn't miss this quartet's CD, because even if it's not gonna change the history of music it can still deliver, a thousand times better aswell, what the band of "The Last Bandit" hasn't been able to in years! /Moreno Lissoni SugarBuzz (website) This CD fucking rocks! How's that! Delivered from Sweden to my old mailbox by the side of the road is the brand new release from one of my favorite bands, Love Injections. This disc has seen little light of day since then as it has been in heavy rotation in my CD changer. Hanoi Rocks, Stones, T-Rex and Cheap Trick are some of the bands having a heavy hand in the influential origins of this band and it is apparent right from the start in the opener entitled "End Of The Line". Righteous party song. KJ's vocal's are once again original sounding and very cool to listen to! "Don't Stop" opens with a catchy guitar riff followed by the rest of the band kicking in a few measures later. Stonesy in approach, Injected in spirit. Track 3 is a ditty called "Bottom Of The Barrel". The beginning of the song reminds me of something off of the old Rod Steward "Gasoline Alley" album. Then changes up into a catchy vagabond travel tune. I have a funny story about "Putty (In Your Hands)". For the first week of listening to the CD I kept singing "Party in Your Pants", until my woman said, "Hey dumb shit, it's Putty in your hands!" Either way a great song. (I like my lyrics better Jacki!) "Waiting For A Move" features some great guitar work. Driving song that needs the volume on 11. What I think is the best song on the album is next. "Time's Up" just doesn’t get old no matter how many fricking times I play it over and over. The lyrics are excellent and the song has hooks, hooks and more hooks. Outstanding rock song. Rates with the best of all time. Listeners are now treated to a great remake of the Stiv Bator / Brian James (Lords Of The New Church) classic, "Black Girl/ White Girl". Nice choice. Cool punk in Iggy vein. The final cut is a pub sing along called, "Don't Be Like Me". Fed up and getting drunk. A sure crowd pleaser. I've been waiting for this ever since their debut demo came out in late 2002... Why did it take so long? The last demo was a very strong debut and the weak songs was very few. This time it isn't really that strong but it's damn good anyway! The inspiration from ROLLING STONES, NEW YORK DOLLS and CHEAP TRICK is even stronger now, but we can also add HANOI ROCKS, early MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE STOOGES and early ALICE COOPER. You could describe their music as a mixture between 60's Garage Pop and 70's Glam Rock. 6 own songs and 2 covers is what you get, and I really think you should check out these Swedes! (Members from PLAN NINE and THE JACKALS). /Jimmy Blom CD Baby (website) Reminiscent of the 70's rock n roll era that's sadly missed 3 Sheets to the Wind is pure rock n roll. I mean, what do you expect from a band that lists New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks as influences? The songs are amazing, fun to sing along with, and the lead singer's voice drips with sex. The music is timeless and reminds me of The Rolling Stones' early stuff. Buy this cd, you won't regret it. Vad mer? Tja, Lords Of The New Church-covers är kul och munspelssolon får de gärna ta med på fler låtar i framtiden. /Niclas Gustafsson VEGLAM (website) It's good to hear from the Swedish INJECTIONS again! I already enjoyed their first effort because it mixed dirt and class like good old rock'n'roll is supposed to do, and now they're coming back with 7 new songs and a cool LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH cover ("Black Girl/White Girl"). As soon as you listen to the first song, you can tell that The LOVE INJECTIONS still enjoy their rock'n'roll raw and that the ROLLING STONES influence is more and more apparent (especially on "Don't Stop" and "Time's Up".) If you dig bands like The SMALL FACES, CHEAP TRICK, early AEROSMITH and The DOGS D'AMOUR or if you're just sick of the nu-metal sound on the radio, then check this band out, this is real! I demand a real album now. /Laurent SKRUTT (website) (7 out of 10) Love Injections feels ambitious, they send me badges, info-sheet and a nice record with 8 songs on it in good quality. First it's poppy punk in the same spirit as The Boys and two of the member really look like they could have been in The Boys. In Don't Stop they sound like a young Stones and you can understand which way this is going. Bottom of the Barrell sounds a little like Hanoi Rocks and you can understand that this is rock n roll punk we're talking about and really good sort of it. I really like Love Injections, when I was little Herrljunga was a place where you changed train to another train, let Love Injections come on the right train to success because they're worth it. |
