THE 1960 PONTIAC STARCHIEF
This is the story about a Swedish guy who sit with his computer in his log cabin in northern Sweden and browsing car ad's on the American Craigslist website. How he find his dreamcar, buys it with help from a friend in Washington State, and then starts a complete rebuild of the car, while the car is still in America, and he is still in Sweden on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, fighting with the polarbears and mosquitos...
Does that sounds weird? Well, here's the whole story:

THE ADD AT CRAIGSLIST:
It all started with the pictures in the add - It was Love at first sight...

Classic 1960 Pontiac. 389 automatic. 9 year old gas but still runs like a top.
(Fries the tires like your first High School car!!!) Really good original condition. Great upholstery on seats and headliner,
needs passenger door panel. New carpets ordered that will be here next week. Remarkably straight and solid with NOT ONE DENT!!
One repaint from red to blue. Gotta see this one before I paint it and double the price. $???????
This was the first pictures I saw of the car, and I immediately falled in love with it... Well, who can not fall in love in a car with this great design?

THE BUYING:
Andreas, a very good friend from Sweden who works in Vancouver, WA, theese days, went to pick up the Starchief at the local sheriff at Yamhill County,
who was the seller of this sweet pearl...

The Sheriff's own car...

The Starchief has safely landed on the trailer...

Andreas is shaking hands with the Sheriff on my behalf...

Oh, goosh - look at the official Policedog coming to the right of the trailer...

Andreas is ready to take the Starchief to its new owner...

Now the car was paid for, and delivered to Andreas garage at Log Max Inc. - So now the plans for the car could really start...

THE DREAM:
After looking at pictures I found on the web, I started to dream about rebuild my car to a NASCAR racecar wannabee, seeing images like the ones below on the web...
I really loves the way how they used to paint those old NASCAR racecars in the
old days, and I love the colors of the wheels on the third car, and thinking on
how I could make something similar, but maybe in grey/black...

After some phonecalls across the ocean, there was another engine on it's way to Dave Proffit's (The engine guru) garage for a complete overhaul and tuning...
