Like most other European armies the Swedes was starting experiment with a more discreet colour on the uniforms. In 1910 a grey uniform with some blue decorations where introduced. The most peculiar thing with this uniform was the hat, a tricone to remind of the "glorious days" of the Great Nordic War and king Charles XII.

As always, the army was short on money, so when the war broke out there wasn't a uniform m/1910 for everyone. Most units had to use a mix of old an new uniforms. The uniform m/1910 was replaced in 1923, but were still issued to the Home guard in 1939.
My 15 mm Swedes below are based on WW 1 Austrian figures from two manufacturers: Peter Pig and Irregulars. I have used different techniques to produce the figures.
For the Irregulars I casted the hats and glued them on. I used a figure already wearing a tricone and a piece of artistic clay. Then I made some in prints of the tricone in the clay and put it away to dry for a few days. This is important because you don't want to have ANY water in the clay when you start casting. Pour some white metal in the in prints. Ok, this may not be the smartest way to do it because the result will be some rather tiny objects and they will for sure require some trimming.
For the Peter Pig's I bought some figures and some "Heads with Tricone" (see under their "Heads and other stuff"), then I simply swapped the heads on the figures. The PP heads might look just a little too big for the PP figures, but the method was fairly fast. The home made tricones gives a superb look but is more demanding as the hats are small and my hands are big...
