So far all figures come from Eureka Miniatures in Australia.
| First we have two
figures that I have painted up just a few days ago. Perhaps I should have
taken the pictures before I gave them the coating...
300 SAM 05 Warrior Monks with Naginata and 300 SAM 23 Geisha. I bought these two models just to see how they looked and I find them quite nice. As I have done some practice with Naginata (and actually also managed to take the first rank) I would like to make a comment on the figure. Note that the monk is holding the Naginata as if he is left handed. That is perfectly all right as a core skill with the Naginata is to be able to use it with the same skill from both sides. I will not make any comments on the Geisha, my experience of those are unfortunately non-existing :-( |

Peasants with pole arms, 300 SAM01 comes in these four poses (seen from different angles) The figures are well proportioned and the casting is clean so I think they are ok. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine.

Late Ashigaru/Follower with bow, 300SAM11 comes in these two poses (seen from different angles) The figures are well proportioned and the casting is clean so I think they are ok. Maybe I would like to ask for some more action from the standing figure. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine. )

Late Ashigaru/Follower with naginata, 300SAM10 comes in these three poses (seen from different angles) The figures are well proportioned and the casting is clean. The running figure looks like he's been based upon a ww1 figure running with his rifle towards an MG but beside that I think they are nice. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine. )

Late Samurai or Renaissance Ashigaru with standard, 300SAM14 and Command Pack, 300SAM22. The standard bearers comes in one pose only but that is in no way disturbing. I think they look great. The Command pack comes with two generals, two attendants two standard bearers and four screens (not showed here). All figures look good but if I compare the standard bearers in my pack and those shown on Eurekas web-site, the bearers should have Samurai armour, not Ashigaru as mine. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine. ) A comment on the standards and the uniforms. These are all pure fictional and are chosen by me for visibility on the gaming table.

Samurai in heavy armour with katana, 300SAM06 and Samurai in heavy armour with standard, 300SAM09. The Samurai comes in four poses that have the expected boldness and aggressively one can expect from guys like these. They are well proportioned and the casting is clean. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine.) On the back of each Samurai you can see the Sashimono back banners, 300SAM25. As far as I know virtually all Japanese warriors carried their masters banner but the Sashimono is sold separately. This means that you have to glue it to each figure and that was not easy. If one can drill a small hole in the back of the figure, it would be of great help.

Mounted Samurai with bow, 300SAM17 and Mounted Samurai with katana, 300SAM15. These figures come in three poses each. I'm sorry for the dark picture but trust me when I say that they are looking good. Just as for all other figures, the Sashimono is sold separately. (The figures are painted by the Oldguard painters in Kiev, Ukraine.)
