War ships in 1:3 000

Here are some pictures of a new line in my collection. These are Russian and Japanese ships from the period of their war in the early 20 the century. I like this scale since the size of the bigger models is just about 4-5 centimetres, so it's possible to have a reasonable large battle on an average kitchen table.

All of my models come from the War Time Journal. They supply their own models as well as some free rules. The bigger rule-set is called "Battle fleet". It's good set with a load of details. It can be a bit technical for a beginner so I would recommend the "light version" called Quick fire. It's still in beta -mode, but it works good enough for me.

Here is my Japanese naval force. It's made up from two divisions from their first squadron. The top six ships forms the first division, which are: Shikishima and Hatsuse (top), Mikasa, Admiral Togos flag ship, Asahi (centre row) and finally Fuji and Yashima in the lower row. The group of four cruisers is formed by ships from several units. The longer ones are Chitose and Kasagi from the first squadrons third division. The two smaller are Naniwa and Takachiho from the third squadrons fourth division.

The Japanese needs some opposition, so the Russian pacific fleet has to take to the sea. Here are two divisions from their Battle squadron. At the top are the Battle-ship divisions first sub-division, formed by Petropavlovsk, Poltava, Sevastopol and Tsarevish. In the middle are the second sub-divisions Peresvyet, Pobyeda and Retvizan. At the bottom of the picture steams the four cruisers of the Division of Long distance scouts, the Bayan, Askold, Diana and Pallada.
