1. Stadsholmen, Old Town in modern-day Stockholm.
The Royal Castle is furthest to the north. Vasa set sail on her maiden
voyage from there.
2. Gråmunkeholmen.

Royal kitchen garden.
4. Käpplingeholmen is where the Royal
Shipyard was located.
5. Norre Förstaden, a city of its own,
distinct from Stadsholmen.
6. Kungsholmen. A large island, now a central
part of the city. Barely inhabited at the time.
7. Södermalm. Cabbage was grown her. Some
industry. The Burghers settled here when Stadsholmen became overcrowded.
8. Djurgården. Island where the Vasa Museum
is located.
At the time, it was hunting ground for the Royalties.
9. This is where the Vasa capsized in 1628.
