A wonderful Bond movie which quickly became one of my favourites!

Thunderball was in fact the first - and for quite some time the only - Bond film I had on tape. During this period of my life (I was about ten or eleven years old), I was practically obsessed with James Bond, and I watched Thunderball at least two or three times a day ... and nearly drove my Dad insane!

In this movie, Bond has to face SPECTRE again, and Blofeldt remain the mystery man. Instead, the main villain is Emilio Largo, played by Italian actor Adolfo Celi (who had to be dubbed as he accent when speaking English was far to heavy!). I always felt he was rather lame, until I saw the scene where Largo is about to torture Domino on the boat - that is truly scary! Largo really shows how ruthless he can be ... I like Domino, she's a nice girl who got involved with the wrong guy. She fought her way out of it, which is admirable, and despite Largo being so dominant, she still has lots of self confidence! She seems to loose some of it after she's met Bond though, I don't know why almost every girl completely melts after meeting Bond and just follows him around like a puppy dog ....

An interesting idea is to create a "duplicate" of Duvall, Domino's brother! It did confuse me quite a lot in the beginning (please, remember, I was only about ten years old then!), and it adds a bit of confusion and difficulties to Bond's mission.
