Most memorable in this movie is of course the first appearance of Jaws (played excellently by Richard Kiel)!! He is really scary, not only the metal teeth but the fact that he is so big!! I wasn't particularly scared when watching Bond films - even when I was fairly young - but Jaws really did scare me! I think what I found most disturbing in The Spy Who Loved Me was the events leading up to Jaws killing Fakkesh ... Jaws just appearing here and there abehind stones and pyramids, and the completely scary music played every time he showed up - it really freaked me out!

Another memorable moment is of course the wonderful stunt-ski-jump in the teaser, performed by stuntman Rick Sylvester! The fact that the parachute turns out to be the British flag gives it that special Bond touch!

This movie makes an interesting political point, as Bond has to work with a Russian agent, Anya Amasova (or Trippel-X) to get at villain Karl Stromberg. As the earlier Bond films, and some of Ian Fleming's books, focuses on the Cold War, this really proves that despite Bond remains as young as ever, the world around him changes ... and the Cold War is well and truly over!

Interesting also, that Anya actually hates Bond for killing her boyfriend, but follows her orders to work with him. However, when the mission is over ... she will kill him!
