This movie, introducing Timothy Dalton as James Bond, is quite good! I like the fact that the entire plot of the movie changes. At first, we are led to believe General Koskov was running from Russia, seaking refuge in England, when it later turned out he was working under-cover for the Russians the entire time! But Whitaker is the one who really creeps me out - someone that obsessed with weapons and wars is really crazy! Interestingly enough, actor Joe Don Baker (Whitaker) appears later, in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies as FBI agent Jack Wade.

Kara Milovy, Bond's romantic interest, is so annoying!! All she does is worry about her stupid cello and cause problems! She was, for instance, directly responsible for Koskov capturing Bond, when she drugged his drink! The movie features a new Miss Moneypenny, played by Caroline Bliss. She plays the part well, but cannot be compared with Lois Maxwell!!

A little Bond trivia : When Bond visits M and Frederic Grey (and Koskov) in the country, he had to pick up a package fro Harrods ... which turned out to be Russain caviar and champagne. When the movie was made, there were some problems obtaining the champagne, so they had to change the brand in the last minute. This unexpected event led to the following addition to the script:
Koskov: Bollinger R.D.!!
M looks very surprised while Koskov keeps talking, and his look demands an explanation from Bond.
Bond: The brand on the list was questionable, sir, so I took the liberty of choosing something else.
