This very first Bond movie (well, the first "official" movie, anyway) is of course a real classic that sets the tone for the Bond films to come.

Sean Connery truly embodies the spirit of  James Bond and his opening line in the casino is absolutely terrific! The storyline is a good one, it's somewhat complex in the fact that two original storylines - the disturbance of the american space shuttles and the disappearance of Commander Strangways - turn into the same one in the end. I like the villain, Dr. No (Jospeh Wiseman), he is very creepy and can easily kill someone with a smile on his face, if it suits his purposes. Naturally, he suffers quite an extraordinary death, like all Bond villains!

Ursual Andress, as Hony Ryder, is also wonderful - her appearance out of the sea wearing nothing but a bikini and a big knife is a true Bond classic, and was later picked up in Die Another Day. Of course, the so-called special effects in this movie feels ancient, just look at the car chase! It's soooo obvious there is a screen behind Sean Connery ... but that is actually very charming in these early James Bond films. They aren't supposed to be realistic, they're supposed to be entertaining - which is just what they are!!
