Val McDermid

Val McDermid is a wonderful British author, who writes criminal novels. I have so far read three books in the series about Carol Jordan and Tony Hill, and five books in the series about Kate Brannigan!

The books about Carol Jordan and Tony Hill are very interesting to read, and a bit unusual. You do get the usual police angle from Carol's views, but you also get a psychological angle on everything that is happening, and that is very exciting! I am generally interested in psychology, and it's great to see the motives and reasons of the baddies on a much deeper level. I also like to see the relationship between Tony and Carol, as it is very complex and complicated, making it all the more interesting and exciting!

The books about private investigator Kate Brannigan are also very enjoyable to read, and a bit "easier" than the other ones. Kate is so easy to like; even if you don't always agree with her methods - which are sometimes quite unconventional! - you can't help but liking her!
