Philip Quast

Australian singer, actor and performer Philip Quast is my most recent obsession!

I first noticed Mr. Quast when I watched the Tenth Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables on video, where he sings the part of Inspector Javert. I was almost instantly amazed by his fantastic voice and enormous stage prescence!! Despite this being a concert, he really acted his part and made the most out of any scene! Since then I have been a devoted Philip Quast fan and have tried to collect as much as possible connected to him.

He divides his time between England and Australia, performing in musical and stage theatre as well as in tv-shows and movies. I haven't been able to see as much of Mr. Quast's work as I would want to, but one favourite - apart from the obivous Les Misérables - is the British miniseries Ultraviolet, where Philip Quast wonderfully portrays a priest involved in a special squad fighting modern-day vampires in London!

Philip Quast has recieved three Laurence Olivier Awards, for his performances in musicals South Pacific, The Secret Garden and The Fix. He is going to be playing Juan Peron in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of Evita, premiering in London in the summer of 2006! I sooooo wish I could see him in it!
