Christopher Stollery

Australian actor Christopher Stollery means something rather special to me, as I have actually met him for real!

I first saw Mr. Stollery play the part of Johnno Johnson in The Flying Doctors, which for a long, long time was my favourite TV show! I have also seen him as Dermot McLeod in the first season of State Coroner (can read more about The Flying Doctors and State Coroner), but unfortunately Swedish Television aren't very into Australian shows or movies, so that's all of Christopher Stollery's work I have actually seen. I know he has alos done some stage work in Australia, Shakespeare, for instance.

In March 2001, Christopher Stollery came to Scandinavia on a combined Film Festival- and tourist trip and from a Flying Doctors fan in Holland he got the email address of a friend of mine. After some emails, and even some telephone calls, me and my friend met him in Helsingör, Denmark, on 24 March!! Since then, 24 March is, and will forever be, "THE CHRISTOPHER STOLLERY DAY"!!

He was totally nice, very, very friendly and it was wonderful to see him - talk to him and hear some stories from his time on The Flying Doctors. He even bought us lunch and took us for coffee!!

One of the most memorable moments in my life - that's for sure!!
