[ r e p o r t ]

we took the train down to gothenburg and arrived there at 4:30pm. we had plenty of time so we decided to go and check out some records. i bought the smashing pumpkins "perfect" cd-maxi.

after that we walked to scandinavium. outside they were selling tour merchandise. i bought a t-shirt and a program. we stood outside with lots of other people and waited for the doors to open, nothing happened. so we decided to go and get something to eat. we came back and the doors were still not open. it started to rain (this wasn't a surprise, after all this is gothenburg!). at about 6:30 the doors opened. we went inside, i bought a dm coffee mug and we went to our seats.

at 7:40pm purity took the stage. they played for 30 minutes. after their set, the stage was prepared for depeche mode. the stage was red with small video screens and a d on the left side and an m on the right side of the stage.

at about 8:40pm they started to play "painkiller". the show had begun! after that they played "a question of time". the whole arena was standing and stood up for the rest of the show! during "never let me down again" dave got the whole arena to wave their hands along with him. "walking in my shoes" featured videoclips of the band dressed up as famous rock stars (david bowie, kraftwerk....). the big sing along came when they played "enjoy the silence". the last song of the set was "barrel of a gun".

for the first encore martin came out and sang "somebody". after that dave returned and sang "stripped" and "i feel you".

the second encore and last song of the show was "just can't get enough".

depeche mode seemed to be in a very good mood and the show was really good! dm had a drummer, two backing singers and a keyboard player with them. the whole band sounded good. you can't go wrong with songs like this!
