My name is Irene Janina, but as an artist I call myself Irca, my nickname as a child. Through art we often can connect with the dreams and expectations from our childhood and this is certainly the case for me. I have lived 45 years in Sweden . I do not “belong” to any nationality, I am a cosmopolitan with my roots in Western Europe but strongly influenced by my youth in South America. Nowadays, I can make myself understood in five languages, and whatever I cannot put words to, I express through art. Art for me is a multifaceted activity, where I chooses the particular expression that is best suited to the question that I want to probe. I try to put my different sides to use to reach people and my inner self. What is important for me and where am I heading? Art and love are for me the two things that make life worth living. Through them I can reach myself and others, perhaps even you my friend who is dreaming about life in all its multitude.
