here's a list of
some frequently asked questions and some not so frequently asked questions.
make sure you take some of these
answers with a pinch (or a punch) of salt):
personal
stuff
per sunding is
the lead vocalist and bass player.
patrik bartosch
is the guitarist. he is also responsible for the string arrangements
and backing vocals.
maurits carlsson
is the drummer and backing vocalist.
all members are originally
from lomma, outside malmö in the south of sweden. they are today
based in malmö.
the name is from a song
called 'eggstone du bländar mig' by johnnies sykel, a
band the members of eggstone were playing in during the early 80's. a friend from
lomma came up with word 'eggstone'.
music
everyone does everything,
even though they all have their individual specialities. most of the
time music comes first, then they listen to the tune and try to figure
out the lyrics together.
no.
the beatles, the smiths, the
jam, the pretenders, fat boy slim (obviously), roger nichols, film
soundtracks, etc.
bob hund, the cardigans,
cam, popsicle, the wannadies, hideki kaji, bertrand burgalat and millions
of other artists at tambourine studios.
tore johansson, bertrand burgalat,
michael blair and johan vävare.
none of the commercially
released songs, but one of the first eggstone songs called 'stolen words' had mostly,
er, stolen words in it.
the first eggstone show
ever was at an amnesty charity gig at smålands nation in lund. they
also did a show together with popsicle to raise money for
their tour bus. it got flooded on a beach in france and the owner of
the bus wasn't amused at all.
only one has been commercially
released so far: 'dreamer', written by antonio carlos jobim. the
clash's 'brand new 'cadillac' and '(i'm not your) stepping stone' by the
monkees (but probably inspired by the sex pistols' version) are two songs performed live.
they also performed lots of other cover songs during
their early years. see also 'the preachers' further down.
it literally means "live
the difference" or "hoorah for variety" or something
similar.
to date, the band have not
written a film score but tracks have appeared in tv-commercials by ef, mer and more recently 'still all stands still' was used in a commercial
for soap, featuring a nude couple running around in a forest (typical
swedish behaviour, dear foreign reader). they have also composed and
recorded the theme song for 'thoors öga', which
was on swedish television during 1996. this song can now be found
under the different title of 'thema version 2' on 'airpop terminal 2' (apricot
records).

where they offer a mail order service.
sadly, no. it is very much
sold out and out of print.
when eggstone founded tambourine
studios, way back in 1991, they needed extra cash and so the preachers
were born! the members, except eggstone, were tore johansson, anders nordgren and
johnny dennis, alias 'divine dennis'. the preachers played at weddings, birthday
parties, pizzerias and other fun places. they did over 200 shows
during their lifetime and ended their career with a tour of japan. you
can see a picture of per and patrik at the wedding party of nisse hellberg,
where they performed, in the 'somersault' booklet.
videos
at present no videos are
available commercially, but the following music videos are gathering
dust in the archives:
'can't come close enough'
'the dog'
'water'
'never been a better day'
'birds in cages'
touring

likely, at least not at the moment.

miscellaneous
'somersault' was shot on a
beach in biarritz, france. 'vive la différence!' was shot in the harbour
of lomma.
yes. believe it or not, but
sheet music was produced
to accompany the release of 'vive la différence!'. it was
actually released before the album and contains musical notation for all
the tracks on the album arranged for
piano, voice and guitar. the vibrashop
may still have a few copies.
grab your mouse, point it
to 'lyrics' and click.
there
used to be, but i totally forgot about it and doesn't have the patience
to set up a new one.
it may still be around but i have no idea where
it can be found.
no.
yes, go and check it out
in the vibrashop.
you can leave a message
in the guestbook, forum or paint your face blue, get naked and walk around
in your home town, screaming 'come one everybody, let's get naked and love
eggstone!'.
again, you can leave a message
to advertise in the guestbook, the forum or perhaps visit ebay?
