my favorite is eggstone's 'eggstone at point loma' ep, as delightfully eccentric as their name, scanning 1968's (approx.) lexicon of pop - accordion, strings, guitars, urgent vocal and hip-hook rhythms collide with potentially strange weather! drugs to forge brittle psychedelia. aztec camera meets haircut 100 meets the monkees meets the small faces? snap! crackle! pop! the occasional fuzzbox pedal!
