eggstone 'ca chauffe en suede!'

 

their tambourine studio in malmö has been so occupied these last few years that they haven't had time to record themselves. so it's been easy to forget that eggstone are bob hund in english with a xylophone. or the hardest easy listening trio in the world.

while waiting for the new, fourth album, the friends at french label tricatel put out this compilation (of single b-sides and album tracks) in france. and yes, the football-crazed frenchies should love eggstone. like the roland nilsson of pop, they make melodious passes crossfield, but really only reach those top scorers sometimes.

but put 'birds in cages' on a tape and send it to mr. elvis costello, great britain. then you might get a friend for life.
