The Swedish Racketlon Rankings System - Principles
Date: 2007-07-20

Revision history:
2002-09-29: Base points changed from 1,2,4,10 to 1,2,3,5. Reason: "avoidance of dramatic mathematics". Also, it makes it more difficult to go directly from the amateurs' class to the Elite class, which should rather not be possible.
2003-08-22: The system modified to comply with the system of the World Ranking. (This change was actually done in practice already after the Swedish Championships 2003. Now it is documented.)
2004-05-19: The prestige factor for Gothenburg Open modified to 1 (since, as of 2004, it is no longer the World Championships)

2006-03-01: Christian Wall takes over from Hans Mullamaa as Swedish Ranking Officer.
2007-03-25: The prestige factor for the Swedish Open, Gothenburg Open and the Swedish National Championships is modified to 1,5 and 2 respectively.

The following is specific for the Swedish ranking system:

The ranking list is used as a basis for what class each player is given. At present the top 40 players are classed as Class A (Elite), a larger amount of players - i.e. number 41-100 are classed as Class B and remaining players are classed as Class C. But this may be adjusted continuously.

For full details on how the ranking list has been compiled see the underlying excel file.

At present the following tournaments are registered to be used as a basis for the ranking:

- Swedish Open (prestige factor 1,5)
- Swedish Championships (prestige factor 2)
- Karlskrona Open (prestige factor 1)
- Västerås Open (prestige factor 1)
- Alelyckan Open (prestige factor 1)
- Gothenburg Open (prestige factor 1,5)

The Prestige factor varies depending on the tournament. Since this is a national ranking the Swedish Championships carry most weight (prestige factor 2).

An updated ranking list will be published after every tournament on the list.
