Epic 8 - Potluck

Part IV

Post Game Statistics

I like this picture from 340 BC. You can see how my strategy to seal off Mali, England and Arabia has kicked in according to plan. I really was in the middle of the pack, just as I suspected at the very start.

The world map after the end of the Chinese campaign.

The world map at the very end. Notice that JC managed to settle a peninsula in former Mali before the cultural borders had expanded.

The GNP graph. Notice how extremely far ahead of the pack Elizabeth was before Saladin and I started to go after her.

The power graph. Everyone followed in the pack at the beginning. You can see where Mao started to drop off because he did not have any metals within his borders. I had to mark when Elizabeth upgraded everything to Redcoats.

The final demographics. I am number one on everything except Approval rate. I am a bit curious on exactly what the approval rate measures. My objective to have many cities materialised just perfect. at game's end I had 37 cities under my control and decent, sustainable finances.

This is my highest score in any event hosted by Realms Beyond.

Conclusions And Afterthoughts

This was a really fun game. I was quite perturbed at the start, when it was clear that I started right in the middle. It dawned on my later though, that my lands had all resources I could possibly need. The geographical abilities to shut off three rivals was also a big plus. The outcome from the tribal villages was also something I have never seen or hear of before, three technologies given from huts!!!

If I did one good move during the game, I believe that was my decision to stay pagan. This way, I did not become anyone's worst enemy and was hence, not pulled into any religious wars.

My most dubious moves was, as far as I can see, not having a clear strategy from the start and the horrible delay before attacking England. I should have been able to finish much sooner, had I focused harder on that objective.

Overall though, I had a blast playing as Egypt and I really look forward to read everyone's reports.

Sirian and Griselda, thank you very very much for all your efforts in bringing so much joy!!
