This document contains error messages you can get when running Paradox and possible causes to the errors.
Base version for this document is Paradox 7 for Win95/Win NT, service pack 4 with Bde 3.50 installed.
Title of the errors are in most cases the message you'll see in the errordialog with some exceptions created by me:

Access violations are split in two different categories: EAccessViolations and pdxwin32: Access Violations
There are three different errorcodes in Paradox representing Unexpected: General Protection Violation. One of them has a long errormessage: Unexpected: General Protection Violation. Press 'OK', then save your documents and exit Paradox. If the problem persists: press 'Abort' to terminate Paradox.
When a GPV is reported on the newsgroup, the exact errormessage is rarely mentioned, so only the cases I've been able to recreate, can be classified correctly. All of them have the longer errormessage text.

You may need to increase MAXFILEHANDLE limit in IDAPI configuration. 172 Too many record locks on table. 361 Trying to create a Paradox index '< >' which can't be named the same as a field. 451 Trying to read from a nonexistent record. 64 Type mismatch in expression.
