Problem: Getting error "Could not delete the specified file."
When running a report containing crosstabs

I used Filemon to analyze what was happening. Paradox kept hanging on trying to delete a file inside of C:\Recycled\NProtect. Dang Norton SystemWorks (FYI - 2003 Version 6.01). Anyway, I knew right where to go to find the culprit. I checked to see if the Recycle Bin was protected by Norton and it was. I then checked the Norton Protection option and the Enable Protection checkbox was checked. I turned that off and the crosstabs run fine now. Apparently, Paradox creates some temporary files while processing crosstabs that it doesn't create for other reports and then tries to delete them. In this case, it couldn't because Paradox wasn't in the exceptions list for Norton. I didn't take time to add Paradox to the exceptions list, I just unchecked the box.
