231 Cannot open < tablename >. -> File \\Servername\Paradox\Data\PDOXUSRS.LCK

Problem: Getting error "Cannot open < tablename >." followed by "File \\Servername\Paradox\Data\PDOXUSRS.LCK"

When opening a form or report.

Other symptoms:
Table itself can be opened. When the table is selected as a replacement for the table in the report, the report opens properly.

The error you are getting indicates to me that BDE can not create the pdoxusers.lck file either because the directory does not exist or for some other reason the file can not be created. Is the directory specification for the .net file in the correct case?

Yesterday, I modified the NETDIR setting to be mapped rather than UNC. Because the problem has been intermittent, it will be a while before I know if that is the fix, but as of now, it seems to be working.

I've had the same thing happen. Make SURE that you have at least 100 MB of available space on the drive. Also, for some reason, Win NT seems to cache the file to ram and once it happens, you must reboot the box. I haven't had the same problem w/ win9x, but I'm sure it's possible. Even though the .net file is only like 13k, the NT freaks out when it gets low on space. Check for a leacherous backup log or something that suddenly swallowed your drive.
