221 Access is denied.
Problem: Getting error "Access is denied"

When an edit occurs on either an alias or configuration information you can hit the Apply button and the screen seems to have the correct information. You could even exit the BDE administrator, open the BDE administrator and see your changes. But when you try to open your application you will get 'Access is denied' errors when the Pdoxusrs.net file is opened.
I have an application that I developed on the local disk (C:). When I tried to deploy it on the network drive (Nt server) and tried to point all the users to the Net Dir location, I would get the first user to start properly but an 'Access Denied' error when the second user starts up.
Solution:
When you make a change to the BDE alias or configuration settings, go to Object, Save as configuration, IDAPI32.CFG, Save, Yes to replace this file. Then you will have a hard write to the CFG file. Also if you have the IDE open during this effort, you will need to exit the IDE and reopen it to pull in the new configuration information.
