Problem: Getting error "Disk error occurred while reading file."
1: When opening a form.
Date: August 2004
Versions: P7 W95/NT
Possible cause:
Form is created in P10 or later versions.
Solution:
Open and save form in P9 first.
Recommendation:
Working with more than one version of Paradox, design in oldest version.
2: When interactively trying to open a form, which contains graphics.
Versions: P10 and later
Other symptoms:
Form can be opened in P9.
If form is opened by ObjectPAL, the error message is: "The design object, '<>', could not be opened."
More information:
see current bugs PX0587
3: When using the 'acquire from' in a form.
Date: 19 January 2004
Versions: P11
Other symptoms:
These are saved as jpg files. Some jpg files will insert fine, but with others I get this error. The only other thing I can do is to open them in an editor
and save them as gif files.

Resolution.
Paradox won't read really large/high res images.

In WP this is solved by opening the file in some drawing app and saving it there. This converts it to a different dialect of jpg (often: non-digital
camera). Or if it comes from Adobe Photoshop then some manoeuvre like omitting the header/preview does the trick.
4: When copying a tableframe between forms.
Date: 28 October 2007
Versions: P7 and later
Explanation by: Bertil Isberg
This will happen if the tableframe contains many columns. The example examined had a tableframe with 68 columns. The limit seems to be 50
columns. With 51 columns, the error occurs.
