Once you get a RTF file loaded into a Paradox Field, there are some things you should be aware of.
- 1. The Paradox field will not display Graphic Images embedded in an RTF file.
- 2. The Paradox field will not display Tables embedded in an RTF file.
- 3. The Paradox field WILL display line indents, first line indents and list, but provides no way to edit them. You can not insert line indents,
first line indents or list.
- 4. If you alter the RTF file once it is loaded and Save it as an RTF file, the new RTF file may:
- a. not retain all original formatting
- b. cause an error and not re-open.
- c. alter original alignment formatting.
Paradox produces a bad formatted RTF file if the first line is Centered or Aligned Right. In addition, any Center or Right alignment on the last line
will be lost. If you Center the first line and save the file as RTF, the complete RTF document will be aligned Centered when you re-open the
file.
Caution should be used when opening RTF files created from other sources (such as Microsoft WORD) where more advanced RTF controls
are implemented. You stand a risk of loosing that formatting if you overwrite the RTF file using Paradox. Simply viewing the file is OK, but as I
indicated, several objects are not supported (ie; graphics) by the Paradox field.
These are just a few of my observations with the RTF file format and Paradox.
