SUBJECT: Norton WinDoctor reports an error
BY: CHRIS DREW
Date: 29 May 2002
After installation of WPO 2002 on Win98, if you run Norton WinDoctor, you may get a message: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland
Shared\BDE\disp.dll cannot access a necessary file: xolehlp.dll.
This is a known glitch, and has no consequences other than annoy us. Just tell WinDoctor to ignore the error.
The bottom line is that Win98 doesn't need xolehlp.dll for BDE, but disp.dll has it on the internal list of dependencies. WinDoctor dutifully
finds this omission and reports it. Another fix is to create any file and name it xolehlp.dll and thus fool WinDoctor.

SUBJECT: Printing problems

Check on your system for a file called PrintEngine100.dll. When you find it, check the properties and see what version it is. It should be
10.0.0.663.
I have heard a couple of reports that the patch has not updated this file during the process.
The trick to getting the printer to work with SP2, is to do the following steps IN THIS EXACT ORDER:
- Remove the printserver file from the Windows startup directory (where it had been added as a workaround to minimize glitches in the initial
release).
- Reboot the computer.
- Then and only then, install SP2 (or reinstall it if it was installed unsuccessfully previously).
What I had was:
in: ..Corel\Word Perfect Office 2002\Programs\
PrintEngine100EN.dll v: 10.0.0.654
PrintEngine100.dll v: 10.0.0.517
PrintServer100EN.dll -- v: 10.0.0.517
and in: ..Corel\Paradox 10 runtime\Programs\
PrintEngine100.dll ---- v: 10.0.0.658
PrintServer100EN.dll -- v: 10.0.0.658
(I have without problems been able to run the runtime-SP )
I tried simply to delete the three files in the ..Corel\Word Perfect Office 2002\Programs\-folder, and restart the machine. They were
obviously triggered under start-up, but I could not find what represented them in the task manager.
However:
1) A fresh (just started) PC
2) Closed DAD
3) Ran the SP2
This time:
in: ..Corel\Word Perfect Office 2002\Programs\
PrintEngine100EN.dll -- v: 10.0.0.654
PrintEngine100.dll ---- v: 10.0.0.663 < == This one is now updated
PrintServer100EN.dll -- v: 10.0.0.517
The last file is not altered, but everything seems to be working well!

SUBJECT: Uninstalling P10 removes all ODBC DSNs
BY: FRANK BURLEIGH
Date: 10 Sep 2001
After WPO2002 was uninstalled and reinstalled, all my ODBC DSNs are gone. Not only that, my odbc drivers for Oracle and Sybase were no
longer in my list of drivers, so it wasn't possible to simply recreate the DSNs.
My comment 1:
open a command prompt
change directory to c:\windows\system32
type:
odbcconf /f odbcconf.rsp
My comment 2:
This problem is fixed in SP2

It seems Paradox 10 with SP 3 still messes up some Win 2000 Pro workstations when you uninstall it. That is it removes the ODBC Admin DSN
names from Windows. This was supposed to be fixed in SP2 I thought.

SUBJECT: Using Netscape after install of WP Office 2002 SP2
BY: JOHN KEYSTON >
Date:November 2001
If you get a message about MSVCRT.DLL when launching Netscape 4.77 after having installed WP Office 2002 SP2, here's how to fix it.
In my case, I have concluded that the problem is quite clearly and reproducibly due to a QuickView .DLL that is installed by the WP Suite in
the Netscape/Communicator/Program/Plugins folder. There are eight .DLLs installed as listed below - with the culprit marked.
NPQ00032.DLL
NPQ00132.DLL
NPQ00232.DLL
NPQ00332.DLL
NPQ00432.DLL
NPQ00532.DLL
NPQ00632.DLL
NPQ00732.DLL < === This is the culprit.
QVPLUG32.DLL
If I rename or delete this file, Netscape works fine. I do not know yet what this will do to the functionality of the plugin, but I'm sure that I
could do without it in any case.
Each time I installed WP2002 I got the same error message when the WP install tried to open Netscape for registration purposes, and I could
always get rid of the error by renaming or deleting NPQ00732.DLL.
I should add that I am also using Windows ME.

SUBJECT: Installing WPO2002 with a /nomsi switch
BY: MICHAEL LUECK
Date:15 April 2002
Installing WP2002 Pro with the /NOMSI switch only copies a hand full of files to:
D:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE. Then at the end of the install when setup tries to run bfix.exe from the CD, you get an
exception error from BDE as it was not fully installed.
My work around has been to grab / install the BDE files from a system installed with the same level of WP Suite, just installed successfully
using the MSI technology setup.
- NET USE over to that other workstation
- Copy all of the files from the other copy of D:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE
- Delete the CFG file
- Export the registry section on the other system and merge it into the system your are running setup on:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\BLW32
I install on clean systems, so it is safe that only the things for BDE with WP2002 are in that key tree.
- Register the one file that needs registering:
regsvr32 "D:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE\idsql32.dll"
- Finally, you are ready to run setup with the /NOMSI switch and you will not get the error message.

SUBJECT: Can't use Internet Explorer after registration of WPO 2002 SP2
BY: IVICA KOLAR
Date:12 November 2001
After installing WPO 2002 Sp2 on a Win 2000 PC, and running the online registration, I get an error when I try to launch Internet Explorer.
The error is access violation in Urlmon.dll. The last access in the IE History files is to the registration sites.
Most promising result of my searching web for "urlmon.dll" is at:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q254/4/90.asp
< Stripped from article >
SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
Iexplore caused an invalid page fault in module Urlmon.dll.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if there are multiple entries for QuickView Plus in the registry.

Note: It's W98 issue but maybe worth of trying.
