I have a conflict when using the english version of Paradox 9 and the Swedish version of WordPerfect office 2000 on the same computer.
I first installed WP office, and it worked fine, and then installaed Paradox, which also worked fine. But the next time I started WP it
complained about wrong language version of some DLL. After completely uninstalling WP Office, and then reinstalled it again it worked, but then
Paradox 9 got exactly the same problem.
Swedish version of the Office Suite is already patched to build 588, while Paradox is at build 368.
As a solution I uninstalled both Paradox and the suite. I then installed Paradox selecting both Swedish and English writing tools, and the
service packs 1, and 2. Eventually I installed the suite to folder of its own.

I'm thinking that the last product installed, installed the default writing tools which the other program has a problem with. For example:
Install Swedish WP default writing tools are Swedish then install English Paradox and the default writing tools are now English, WPO won't work.
or
Install English Paradox and the default writing tools are English. then install Swedish WP default writing tools are now Swedish,
Paradox won't work
I would suggest either install all the writing tools or install both Swedish and English.

When users are installing different language versions on their PCs, they might want to use the \L switch with WP. For example, if they have
first installed WP(Swe) and then Pdx English : modify the WP shortcut to ...
c:\....\wpwin9.exe /L=uk (or whatever the language code)
...to force the use of the appropriate language DLL.

SUBJECT: BDE and localized versions of Paradox 9

It turns out that we have several individual bugs with the way the BDE is installed in the localized versions of WPO2000 and Paradox 9.
In particular, it seems that the German standard suite installs an english BDE. I also suspect that the voice suite, and possibly the other
localizations of the standard and voice suites also include the english BDE, though I have not verified this yet.
Secondly, the localized Paradox 9s are installing the BDE incorrectly. idr2xxxx.dll is the resource file for the BDE, containing the strings used
in error messages, dialogs, and the QBE. idr20009.dll is should be english, idr20007.dll german, idr2000C.dll french, and so on. (A list of the
language codes is at http://www.unicode.org/unicode/onlinedat/languages.html) It seems that our setup is installing the BDE as though it were
english all the time, and is simply substituting a localized idr20009.dll (and the acompanying regkey - HKLM\Software\Borland\Database
Engine\Resource) instead of the appropriate language DLL.
VERSIONS: Paradox 8
SUBJECT: Dutch version of Paradox 8

The only problem was that we use the Dutch version of Paradox, and the SP1 was in English (Dutch version is not available).
We fixed the problem by "manually" updating Paradox. We extracted the SP1 by hand and we copied the files over the original files but we
left the file PXRES09.DLL out. Now we have an updated Paradox 8 (v8.00.302) and it's still Dutch!
