Day After Forever

Large interconnected city level and sequel to "Forever and One More Day". Not quite as tightly scripted combat, but much bigger and with lots of destruction.

Very cool city map that reminds me a bit of Duke 3D's first level. Very well set up combat with protector drones and other stronger enemies, and some cool scripted destruction. Lots of details without going overboard (mostly), like new maps tend to do.

Pretty cool old-school city map featuring a train station and culminating with a cool boss battle in a mall. Features som pretty nead sector-over-sector effects. Like many older maps it suffers a little bit from underdetailing and has some scale issues and some glitchy spritework, but overall a cool map if you like it old-school.

A shopping mall with plenty of secrets to find. Lots of enemies to fight as you go through the different stores hunting for keycards. Cool environment and old school style, some parts are maybe a bit dark.

A recreation of the area where the author lives. You're given a list of tasks like paying the rent, buying groceries etc. The structure reminds me of Postal 2, as does the look, but I found this more fun. There are bikes to take you around the small town, and some new decorative models. There's also some cutscenes at the start and end of the map. Like many HRP-based maps it's a bit messy, and there's quite a bit of getting stuck in the scenery and similar issues.

Another beginner map with bad texturing. It gets a bit better as the map progresses with some pretty cool lighting, hinting that this was the authors first attempt, but it's a short map so it's not room for a whole lot of improvement. Not recommended.

Cool oldschool style map based on (and named after) the strip club in Duke Nukem Forever. There's also lots of influences from E1L1 and E1L2, you'll recognize a few places. There's also a shrunk section, like in DNF. The design is quite simple by today's standard when it comes to details, but I kind of prefer it that way. There are some scale issues, but nothing too bad.

Tribute to Action II
By DanM, 2009

One of the best Duke maps I've ever played. It's a sequel to a Shadow Warrior map which I'll review sometime. The map is set in a cinema, intended as sort of a remake of the first level in Duke 3D, but it's really not that similar. The action is really great and cinematic with TONS of enemies, and it looks very nice. Was later reworked into DanM's Duke Nukem Eternity TC. A must play.
Note: Included with later releases of DukePlus.

Poorly designed street with some random rooms serving as buildings, lots of them untextured or poorly textured. Scale is horrendous and most of the map can be skipped using the jetpack (which you need to finish the map). Typical beginner map, action is sort of decent with a lot of items.

A fun small cave level suitable for 2 or maybe 3 players. Reminds me of the cave level in Duke Nukem 3D for Playstation, but better looking. Maybe a bit much Devastator ammo.

Sort of a remake of the final boss stage of Duke 3D. A large, open sports stadium with lots of weapons and also a smaller outside area.

A train station with trains and a small park and a shrine. A bit too large for just two players, but a cool looking map.

A detailed train with lots of destructible parts. Really one of the coolest train levels I've ever seen, maybe even better than the train in Blood (I don't say that lightly, because that's one of my favorite levels ever!). Only problem could be that with more than 2-3 players it might be too cramped. There also is not a lot of shading.
