LeBron v D.Wade

Ok, so I'm really hoping the Cavs beat the Pistons... if anyone saw the shootout between LeBron and Wade a couple months back, it was ridiculous and would be fun to watch during a conference final series and could be the beginning of a Bird v Dr J type Eastern Conference battle for years to come... I'll bet David Stern is hoping for this scenario! No more Detroit v San Antonio please!

It seems that this is all coming too easily for those two guys... however, while MJ had to get through the Cavs, then the Pistons, to win the championship in his 7th year... The Lakers were stacked when Magic rode Kareem to the finals in year 1, Bird had Parrish but essentially led the Celts to a championship in year 2, Duncan had Robinson but was already the Spurs MVP when he won in year 2...

I realize that I'm overanalyzing and nobody's won a championship, but these two dudes are ridiculous. Look what LeBron is doing with that team... The starting five of Eric Snow, Flip Murray, Drew Gooden and Z should not win three straight from the Pistons... shit, Gooden and Z aren't even finishing games, Varajou and Donyell do that. I realize that Larry Hughes is a player, but the rest of these guys are cast aways. LeBron's ability to score when he wants and to get the ball to guys like Varajou in a position that they can do damage to a team like the Pistons is entertainment. Compare the Cavs lineup to what Wade's working with... JWill, Payton, Walker, Shaq, Mourning, Haslem, Posey...a combination of talent and leadership (+Riley) that let's Wade simply dominate athletically without getting involved in management.

Not sure where I'm going with this, but watching these games the last week or so has been fun (fuck the Spurs and Pistons) and I haven't ranted sports enough lately...

Oh and can Barry just get this over with so that we can move on with our lives...let's shelf Barry and talk about Pujols... this is like the dunk contest when Birdman missed 12 times before finally throwing down...

Finley can't get any love in the Big D... he used the own that city, was CUT and now he can't get any love... what did he do wrong really? I do like that he's dunking a la 1998 right now though...

Speaking of dunks... watch the 1979 NCAA championship Bird v Magic on ESPN Classic... Magic used to be able to KILL dudes above the rim...he had two huge dunks in that game. And did you realize the Larry Legend was a true post-up center in college? Fun game to watch actually.
