Who the fuck is Pippi the Pelican?

Why I'm called "Pippi the Pelican" is something that the average reader probably wouldn't understand, so I'll try to explain.

I work in a bakery in Sweden, and the intonation there has always been rough, but hearty and kind. One day in the canteen, my colleague said that we flutter around like birds over a peace of bread. "Okey, I know that birds like bread, he said, but you act like seagulls on a fishing-boat", he continued unsuspectingly.

He started to compare us with birds and gave us nicknames like "The Heron on testosterone", "The Cuckoo", "The Seagull", "The Great crested grebe", "The Blackbird", "The Cock sparrow", "The Hawk", and so on. And the girls he called "Tits" or "Boobies".

"But what should we call you, I retorted? Sean the Mute Swan? It fits you real well, I suppose. Mostly because of the protuberance on your neck, what the rest of us usually call the head". Everyone exploded in a wonderful laugh, except for Sean.

So I became Pippi the Pelican because of my big mouth. Pippi is a childish slang expression for bird in Swedish.

There's a phrase where people use to say "A joy that's shared is a joy made double", and I definitly agree with that.

Today I'm a proud dad of two beautiful and smart boys.

Linus is a linguist, trying to attain the object of his desire to work as a teacher in Japan or England and Simon wants to be professional hockey player or soccer player, and they are both on their way to reach the goal.

Linus has got a lease on an apartment outside London and lives there with his sweetheart, and Simon is for the moment one of his teams best hockey player in Frolunda Indians.

Every so often, some little thing you say or do, completely overwhelms me, and I remember why I absolutely adore you! ♥
