These comments
are made by an "happy amateur". Some based on what I saw
by myself, some based on what I have been told by the handlers and
others. Due to inexperience or problems with the language something
may have been misunderstood or incorrect. If someone find faults
in the text please contact me so it can be corrected.

A
historic occasion -
4 judges at a Spaniel championship. After many years a debate and some
controversy the Kennel Club has decided that two pair of judges should judge
the championships. All clubs has from this season an option to engage two or
four judges to their trials.
The ground at Donerells was exceptional
FTCh Drury Skylark (FTCh Kenine Robb of Rytex - FTCh Drury Poppet)
made it to the championship for the second year. handler Mr. C Oakley
FTCh Steadroc Serenade (FTCh Clarbourgh Art - FTW Chilview Ann) had a
good first run for Tony Habgood and proofed again that the "Chilview-line"
produces quality. She failed on a retrieve in her second run.
FTCh Craighaar Classic (FTCh Kettlestang Comet - FTCh Moonread Amy)
was one of eleven!! with Comet as a father. She had two good runs and got a
Diploma
Mr G Ford´s Clangregor Cronan (FTCh Laganmill Maestro-Toonarmy
Tasgaigh) had a very good first run,
but was eyewiped in his second in a complicated situation (in front of the
gallery) by Whitehope Solitaire
Glynvilla Gaffer ( FTCh Glynvilla Griffin - Malverndale Dragonfly) ,
Jeff Rayner had two good runs and got a Diploma
One of the favourites was the winner of this years Irish championship
FTCh Edwardiana Tweed (FTCh Laganmill Malvern - FTCh Toonarmy Torrent).
She started of really good but failed on a runner.
John Edwards bitch FTCh Toonarmy Torrent is a real class bitch - she had
three other daughters qualified to the championship this year
Aubrey Ladyman had to leave his best bitch at home due to heat. FTCh
Rytex Riffs (FTCH Kettlestang Comet - FTCh Rytex Rime) didn´t get
anything.
Last years winner FTCh Whitehope Solitaire (FTCh Roughburn Jet - FTCh
Tynalden Isla) with her handler Ian Openshaw and owner Freddie Smith had a
god first run but struggled a bit to find game.
Headmaster Daimian Kelly with FTCh Flowbog Wisp ( FTCh Clarbourgh Art
- Anahoe Ena) had two good runs and got a Diploma
Chris Wadsworth and John Bailey bought Arnothill Spice (FTChlaganmill
Maestro _ FTCh Parkfort Snowflake) from Ben Wong during the season and ended
up with a Diploma.
The viewing was sometimes spectacular

Button)
Mr J. McAndrew`s bitch Tyn-a-Wan Tamper (Tyn-a-Wan Toddy - Housty
Gemog) had a very good (and fast) first run
Spriggans Bailiff of Keldab (Kettlestan Comet - Penrhyn Flash) John
Cook
The Kennel Club where represented by Mrs Rosemary Hall and Mrs Anne Greaves
David Lisett´s FTCh Toonarmy Top Tip ( FTCh Trawsgoed Lad of
Caldeview - FTCh Megstone Belle of Toonarmy) had two spectacular runs.
The young Annickview Anna (FTCh Steadroc Sker - Rytex Ricles) bred
and handled by David Lisset had a very good first run.
FTCh Nant-Y-Bwala Ricky (FTCh Rytex Racer of Craigfelin -
Maesydderwen Daisy) was in his 5:th championship in a row for John Bailey.
After two very good runs, despite an injury prior to the event, he got to
the run-off.
Steve Russell has had a super year with two wins with his FTCh Becksmill
Daybreak (FTCh Rytex Rod - Maesrdderwen Quail)
FTCh Rytex Rolex ( FTCh Kettlestang Comet - FTCh Clarbourgh Amy) had
two good runs for Mr A. J. Pay and got a Diploma (without any favours for
the handlers age!).
Pedigree oracle Mike Smith checks with runner up handler/trainer David

FTCh Rytex Rish had some spectacular retrieves in her first run. But
got "impossible" retrieves in her second and had to settle with a Diploma
Irish keeper Ivan Wilson had two good runs with his breeding Keeperscourt
Dancing Brave ( FTCh Rytex Ruffer of Tasco - Wyndhill Regale) and gor a
Diploma.
Championship winner Norman Blakeney from Ireland qualified a daughter to his
winner FTCh Philips Girl. Skrondale Felicity - father FTCh Laganmill
Maestro.
During the comfort break
John Bailey had a quick tchat with judges Adien Paterson and John
Holloway.
FTCh Whitehope Solitaire
had some extraordinary retrieves in her second run
Ian Openshaw looked
confident after Solitaires second run.
Mr J. McAndrew`s bitch
Tyn-a-Wan Tamper (Tyn-a-Wan Toddy - Housty Gemog) had another great
run but a bird was lost over a fence and she could have handled a bit
better.....
FTCh Whitehope Solitaire
The pair Keith Carter and Graham Mulligan sorts things out.
The guns made a great job. They can, as you all know, make a big difference
It took the judges half an hour to decide.....
Three dogs went into the
run-off FTCh Whitehope Solitaire started against Tyn-a-Wan Tamper.
Then Tamper tookon FTCh Nant-Y-Bwala Ricky. All
three dogs made minor faults during the run-off so the gallery didn't know
what to think........
