R.I.P - LILLEN

June 26:th i went to the vet. with Lillen for what i supposed was a strain to his paw. We did some xray of his whole left foreleg that showed nothing. I got som painkillers & anti inflamatory fluid and went home with him. 3 weeks later and no bettering i took him to another vet. that did the same pocedure all over again , and she sadly said that he had a tumour that was real agressive in his "over-arm". Pictures were sent to a specialist that confirmed this in a few days. Meanwhile i started to prepare for what would come. I had 5 days (took a leave from work) that i spent totaly for and with him. Wednesday 21:st of July 2004 i took farewell of my best and closest companion ive ever had , and i miss him so much i just wanna burst..

Lillen - I love you so my heart bleeds , ill never will forget you.

Ill make my promise in this week , ill get your pawn print as a tattoo on my chest. To show that you really touched my heart. Forever in my thoughts..Miss you...

What does the future hold for the breed ?

There is an old English proverb that says, "Give the dog a bad name, and hang him. The virtues of the dog are his own , his vices, those of his master." This saying could not apply more apty to any other breed of a dog than the American Pit Bull Terrier. Many people who condemn the breed forget that animals are not evil , nor are they capable of making moral or logical decisions. Their actions and behaviour are governed by their owners. The Pit Bull has facinated and infuriated people for centuries. Probably much of the controversy surrounding him erupted because he is a reminder of the barbaric and savage side of human nature that we as civilized society would rather forget. In spite of its controversial nature , the APBT is a remarkable breed with an amazing past. And, as Pit Bull owners , the future and survival of the breed is in your hands

Dog holocaust

THERE is a knock at the door. A uniformed official says he has come to take your dog. The dog has done nothing wrong, but his breed has been outlawed in the town where you live. You've had this dog since he was a puppy. He is obedience-trained, licensed and vaccinated. He never runs loose. He has never bitten anybody. And you love him. But it's bye-bye, Buffy, if he's the "wrong" breed.....Read more here

  • If you travel with your Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix through a city that bans the breed, your dog might be confiscated and killed?

  • If there is a Pit Bull in your household, you may find your homeowner's insurance cancelled, or you may have difficulty finding homeowner's insurance?

  • Ownership of treadmills, books on the history of the breed, and canine nutritional supplements have often been used as "evidence" in criminal dog-fighting cases?
