MH - is this test called & it is a mental description of how the dog reacts and behaves at different kind of thretening situations , aswell as how the dog get along with people. It also describes how the dog solve problems of different kind.

Every single step of the test have five different "parts" in it that is marked and evaluated , depending on how the dog reacts on the situation  tested.

Cooperation

Dossent follow eaven after    several attempts to get the dog to come Comes along unwillingly, goes against owner or other direction. Folows all the way , neutral. Follows willingly , engaged. Follows willingly.intensive. jumps/barks happy.
1:c Contact Handlig Rejects , growl/bites. Avoids , tryes to get away, maby takes contact. Accepts , acts neutral. Accelerate , answer with contact behaviour. Accelerate , answer with intence contact behaviour against fig.
2:a Play 1 Play-lust Dont play. Dont play , shows little intrest. Play´s -starts slow, but gets active. Plays active , fast starter. Plays verry active , verry fast starter.
2:b Play 1 Grabbing Dossent grab. Dossent grab but smells object. Carefully grabbs , may pinch the fig. Grabbs emediatly with the whole mouth. Grabbs directly , snapps at object.
2:c Play 1 Tug a war Dossent bite. Bites carfully , lets go , dossent pull. Bites-pulls , retake hold. Grabbs emediatly with the whole mouth.   untill handeler lets go. Grabbs emediatly with the whole mouth. Shakes & pulls untill handeler lets go.
3:a Hunt Pursuit Does not start Start , but stopps. Starts or run slow , may speed up , goes though. Starts off in high speed , focused- stoppes at object. Starts off in high speed , runs past object. May turn back.
3:b Hunt Grabbing Pays no attention to    the object. Does not grab , smells the object. Grabbs with doubt or time-delay. Grabbs directly, but let go. grabbs directly, holds object 5 sec minimum.
4 Activity Pays attention not active unintrerested. Pays attention is calm stands sitt or lay down. Pays attention and stays calm , with single activity bursts. Interested abit worried walks around and smells. Worried , fast up and down in activity.
5:a Stop in play Interest Not engaged un- interested. In controll  some stops may acurr. interested goes along with fig , no abruptions. Interested wants to go , some start atempts. very interested wants to go- some start atempts.

KORNING

In late december 1999 Lillen stepped up a bit , and did a more serious test. This time 3 situations more were added to the MH-Test above , as you will find below. Further more - the dog also got a more precise judgement and was given points to underline "how" much "social-gameness" (for example) the dog possesed.

This is a good breeding tool , EX : try all pups from a litter at 2-3 year of age -do they all show nervous tendences or are over agressive. Or show anyother incomon undesirable signs - Then dont breed on the pups in the future couse it is a big chance that it may be genetically enharitable.

Of course the same "rule" should be aplied if you do the test singlehanded and get a bad result , dont breed a bad dog...!!

Ex: Compare the example above with "hipp-x-ray" on a dog.....bad hips= undesired in breeding , right ?
