In 2000 i was invited to Eftersnack @ TV2
Some pics from when i was in a debate program on tv (eftersnack) talking about Pitbulls. It was all about a company that wanted to ban ppl with Pitbulls from living in their apartments. It turned out to be a pretty god program were we showed that our dogs not are dangerous or visious beasts. There were Police in the studio that said "It aint a breed problem its a owner problem" and some ppl from the kennel club that said almost the same things. I was there with my dog and talked a bit about mentality of the breed and also gave the breed a face. The one from the "apartments company" made herself look like a fool. It was a lively debate in the papers a few days after this and this program kind of started to focus more on the "bad owners" then the breed of dogs.
After this Program i was invited to another tv-show that was called Debatt in 2001. Almost the same issues were debated. Good program that to that showed how many myths there are about Pitbulls. And that many Landlords Trust the media image that has been spread about Pitbulls , and dont get FACTS when banning them in their appartments. Hopfully we opened thier eyes a bit more for the truth. At this program there were also kennel ppl , police , and owners including me and one pup from my breeding with her owner in the studio + 3 staffordshires. That tried to give the breed a more possitive and true image then the lies and twisted facts the Papers do !
In erly 2002 something happened that i only had read about in the media before. I moved to a new appartment and the landlord was told in advance what breed i own "no problems" and i got the contract. (at this moment they had no rules about dogs at all in their houses) BUT !! - 3 months after i got a mail saying i had to move because i owned a "Fighting dog". So now 6 months of hell started , they said either move or get rid of the dog !! you have 1 month to comply to our demands. This ment that they had a meating in the board some time after i moved in , and changed the rules for their appartments.They added a line that forbid "fightingdogs" in this area. IOW a big misstake by them , since i already informed them about my dog and got an approval to move in. But i didnt crack up and move , i took it to "hyresnämnden" (kind of a court for landlords) were we had a 2 hr meeting. We had or things said about the subject infront of the judge , and they said that they would get back to us when they reached a verdict. (but already in court the judge said that this matter stinked , that they had done every misstake they could when trying to get me to move. So i kind of felt good leaving that meeting. After this i called TV3 News , and they made a 10 minute ad on it. I also got in 2 Papers telling my story , i got to say my version of how i felt beeing stomped on like this. They had NO complains on me or the dog , and the fact that they knew about the dog prior to i moved in and didnt say anything then , made me win in the "court". So now i have a steady contract and they had to let me stay !! ;)
