An ordinary day
Well, we
start'd to booze at sunrise, like we always do;
there were me and Jimmy and a whore was there too.
Some white-mule from the last show, was all that we could clutch.
The whore was going crazy, said: "You're boozing too
much!"
We were
going downhill, our minds were turning blank,
we didn't give a damn about what it was we drank.
Every generation, some says, needs its war.
So she gave us ours when we yelled for more.
And then she
made me stunned, said I reminded her of Jake,
until I realized that Jake, it was her snake.
I flied of the handle, oh brother can you tell.
The flatbacker flipped her lid as we were raising hell.
I go 'round
in a viscious circle.
The more I get, the more I need.
I was hurt
by dawning, I am out of line;
ain't myself this morning, gotta find more wine
and be stoned before night...
