Distance

Working 15 ft from the bed and 3 ft from the fridge is not a good basis for weightloss - quite the contrary, actually.
Without the walks to and from the bus and the running around all over an office or store all day long the scale starts ticking. Slowly at first, until one day you have to put on your jeans (who am I kidding - you don't seriously think wear jeans when I can work i sweatpants?) lying down on the bed, or soaked in the bathtub like they did in the seventies.
When this happens, you realise that a change has to be made. Well, said and done, I started taking power walks first thing in the morning. Perfect for catching some morning sunrays and early birdsong while trimming off some fat.
Yeah, it would have been perfect if I wouldn't have gone and gotten huge chafes on my heels from my old sneakers. After only two power walking days I had to throw in the towel and instead throw in some cookies and candy into my insatiable cakehole. Well, well...

As soon as I'm healed it's back up on the horse again. Promise.

Family

Yesterday I visited my sister and her husband at their new apartment. We had some dinner, a couple of glasses of wine, talked and watched tv. All in all - a nice evening. The apartment was nice too, it felt big even though it's only 64 sq meters. I'm sure they'll be happy there.
I still haven't gotten used to the fact that their married. I mean, she's five years younger than me, so in some ways I still see her as the baby sister, not as someones wife.
And tonight I'm visiting my mom for some dinner and Schlagerfestivalen. When I talked to her on the phone this morning she sounded really excited to see me. I think she called me "sweetie" about ten times. Well, we haven't seen each other since christmas, so I'm looking forward to seeing her too.
I've stuffed a bag full of clothes that are too small for me to give to my brother's girlfriend. Nice to have someone to unload stuff on.

Gotta go.

Anyone still out there?

Wow... Time flies, huh? Well, better late than never - a new post on my old blog, full of dust and cobwebs.

Doing: Mostly working (still loving it, though) and trying to be there as best as I can for a loved one who has been sick for quite some time.

Reading: Johnny Cash's biography. Man, it's like being in the same room with him as he tells all those cool stories from his past about himself and everyone around him. Apart from making great music, he's a wonderful storyteller.

Writing: Nothing! It's such a shame. Not a single word on my novel, diary, blog, notebook or even on a scrap of paper or a napkin. Zipp, nada, nothing. Except a little bit in my head.

Listening to: Just filled up my Ipod with just about everything we have on cd and on disc. Favourites at the moment include Laleh, Robyn, Johnny Cash and early Michael Jackson.

Seeing: Not much of anyone lately. We've been kind of secluded for a while. That's ok, but now that my sister has moved a bit closer (today!), maybe I'll se some more of her.

Shopping: I've become quite the shopoholic. Dangerous, but fun. Clothes and shoes in abundance.

Watching: Tonight - "Six Feet Under". They have the most beautiful and perfect credit titles. Not to mention the wonderfully bizarre characters and events. Tomorrow I'll bite my nails down to "Prison Break".
After all, after a long day of watching tv, there is nothing like sinking down on the sofa and watching tv.

Longing for: Spring and summer. I mean, come on already! Is this a test? Snow covering the ground for 70 days in a row - are you kidding me? Bring on some heat so I can take out all my nice new clothes and shoes. Basta!

If anyone is still reading this - I'll try not to let so much time pass until my next post.
